Shopping ~ OIive's Friend Pop
Posted by ShoppeGirlsI am in love with the creations at Olive's Friend Pop. 'Olive's friend Pop is a collection of vintage-inspired, original clothing for little girls, but as that's a bit long, we call it 'nostalgic playwear'. Their creations are inspired by proper little girl's clothes Post WWII.

Olive’s Friend Pop Vintage Inspired Clothing
In the recent winter fashion column I wrote for the June Peekaboo Magazine, I featured amazing capes and coats from Olive’s Friend Pop. I can not express how much I love this label! When I showed the Autumn Winter Lookbook to my husband he said to me wow ‘that is so your style…..just like Lover the label only childrenswear’. Now for those who may not know yet my absolute favourite (Women’s) designer is LOVER The Label. I actually own an amazing cape from Lover which I think he was making reference to.
What I adore about Olive’s Friend Pop is that the pieces are vintage inspired and have a timeless classic feel. Classic being that they won’t date they will always look stylish! With my favourite designer ‘Lover The Label’ I used to actually ‘collect’ pieces from every collection almost as art. The clothing from Olive’s Friend Pop is so beautiful and just like ‘Lover the Label’ pieces so lovely you would want to keep as heirlooms.
Julia and Lea the designers behind Olive’s friend Pop describe their designs as ‘nostalgic playwear’ ‘…inspired by proper little-girls’ clothes of our grandmothers’ generation, Post WWII, and from a time when little girls looked like little girls’. Standout pieces from the Autumn Winter 2010 collection would have to be the Agnes Pinafore dress, The Ella capelet and Ida Pixie hat (as pictured above) and the Mae wool dress is absolutely divine! Infact to be honest the whole collection is a stellar….and every piece is a standout piece! This is one label to watch!!!!!

Little girls clothes 1: Olive's friend Pop
This morning I was having my cup of tea at the computer, when Miss Moo Moo came into the room. I was looking at the beautiful clothes of Olive's Friend Pop on the Lark website. This was not the first time I have just stared and stared at these beautiful clothes. And then, this, from Miss Moo Moo ........
"I love this, this, this and this and this".
"But these clothes aren't pink" I say.
"That's OK, I still love them." she says.
Of course, good taste has prevailed.
It looks as if we are past the days of 'if it's not pink, I'm not wearing it'. Yay!
So beautiful, but where would she wear something this. There is a lot of beach and bush walks around here of late.
Hmmm, we need an occasion!

I came accross this shop recently and just love it... hope you do too! Olive's friend Pop is a collection of vintage-inspired, original clothing for little girls or as the founders Julia and Lea call it 'nostalgic playwear'. I enjoyed reading this interview over at KidMagazine with them...

Whee! Here comes Kawaii Kids – ww.kawaiikids.com.au - a baby and kids boutique that offers fashion, toy and accessory originality for the child who wants to stand out from the crowd – at prices you CAN afford!
‘Kawaii’ means ‘cute’ in Japanese, and there’s plenty here that deserves that title. Olive’s Friend Pop is among my favourite brands on offer here. Taking me back to my childhood with ‘nostalgic playwear’ this Australian designed range is inspired by post-WWII girls fashion and created using durable, yet comfortable materials. My favourite piece is the Violet Overalls – I’m sure I had a similar pair as a tot!
The wooden cash register is another hot pick. All the buttons push, the drawer opens and closes and the numbers at the top spin too. Gorgeous! You’ll also find an array of OB Designs DINGaRINGS and pretend play items in the play section at Kawaii Kids.
The Kawaii Kids sale section is another essential location, with finds up to 50% off within! Bargains you can pick up this month with your loose change include legwarmers, hats for less than a gold coin, and retro hip hair accessories for your little Miss.

Olive's Friend Pop nostalgic clothes for little girls
Oh what a divine line of children's wear. Olive's Friend Pop transports us to yesteryear with its pinafores, bonnets, bloomers, knickerbockers and wool capes for little girls. Inspired by the post-World War II era of our grandmothers, this is "nostalgic playwear" made with durable fabric for play and for special occasions too. These pieces are meant for handing down.
The tailoring is exquisite and the fabric choices sweet as can be. I particularly love the wool-blend herringbone overalls picture above. Pop on a head scarf and some mary janes to complete the look. I'd love one in Mummy size too please.
You can find Sydney-based Olive's Friend Pop at stockists around Australia, online and in South Korea.

Remember those cute outfits from our grandmother’s era? The sweet, classic childrenswear seen in the pages of children’s storybooks and films with the pintucking details, gorgeous patterns and classic cuts? Well those beautiful pieces – which are nearly impossible to find today – are now available thanks to Olive’s Friend Pop.
Founded by two mums with corporate backgrounds, Olive’s Friend Pop launched in August 2009 and became an immediate success. Their sweet, nostalgic designs are original, beautiful and innocent, made with high quality materials (mostly Australian).
The attention to detail is obvious in the clothing and although they are classier pieces, the clothing is meant for play! Dressed in the Bertie Wool Overalls, my daughter had room to move, play and run and at the same time looked spiffy enough to attend church.
Olive’s Friend Pop’s Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection features floral fabrics, herringbone details, wool, rich velvet, cotton baby pin wale corduroy and crisp cottons all in shades of robins egg blue, soft green, cream, browns, beiges and peacock blue.
One of our favourite shops Kawaii For Kids carries this fabulous line and ships worldwide! For a list of additional retailers both online or within Australia, please visit Olive’s Friend Pop’s list of shops. Also, take a minute to visit their website – like their clothing, it’s simply adorable!

Kids Instyle, Sydney 2010: Best Show Finds #2
Olive’s friend Pop
I have been wanting to talk about Olive's Friend Pop for forever! They caught my eyes a couple months ago because their website has a very sweet and vintage vibe to it and the clothing is equally amazing! Everything in the Olive's Friend Pop shop is handmade with the most attention to detail and quality. Olive's Friend Pop was created by 2 friends, Julia and Lea who were inspired by the fashion and charm of their grandmothers generation, "When little girls dressed like little girls." They call their line of adorable clothing "nostalgic playwear" because they aren't only darling but very comfortable and practical. These items are special enough to be called "modern heirlooms." I would recommend everyone with a little girl in their life a look-see at this shop. I have actually seen the quality and cuteness in front of me! I just love Olive's Friend Pop and you will too!.

Kids Instyle, Sydney 2010: Best Show Finds #2
Olive’s friend Pop
Following a successful debut at Kids Instyle last season, Julia Ferguson and Lea Walker returned to present their first spring/summer range. This new collection of sweatheart styles are almost too good to wear, however you won’t be able to resist putting your little darling into any of these outfits for play. Everything in the range is made from wearable and durable fabrics and is meant to be worn for everyday wear. For special occasions there’s the Mary party dress and the Lily pleated shell top (shown above).

Words Jade Thompson from My Style3 March 2010
You might have gathered that I adore vintage-style children’s clothing and so without a doubt I was drawn to the label Olive’s Friend Pop. Creators Julia and Lea were inspired by the traditional style of their grandmothers’ generation. You can expect feminine and original designs for every little girl! Take a look at olivesfriendpop.com.

Oh, I think I have died and gone to heaven! Olive’s friend Pop is a collection of vintage-inspired clothing inspired by proper little-girls’ clothes of post WWII, from a time when little girls looked like…well…little girls. They call it ‘nostalgic playwear‘ - capes, bonnets, overalls, pinafores, aprons and so much more. Simply adorable!
The collection was designed by two very clever Aussie mothers who are quick to concede that whilst their clothes are indeed ’special’ they are not ’special occasion’ wear. The materials are durable and robust, to be worn… because let’s face it, little girls may like getting ‘dressed up’ but they love getting ‘grubbed up’ too (oh, indeed they do, especially mine).
I have a feeling this is a brand to watch out for. The Winter/Autumn range (pictured) is available through stockists listed here.

Olive’s Friend Pop is very much from the ‘Mad Men’ era and I am a huge fan. Whether you go for the Betty, Minnie, Patsie or my personal favourite, the Ethal, this is such a stunning range. I would buy one of everything if I could!

Loving, loving, LOVING this brand new children's collection from Olive's Friend Pop. I have been so dying to tell you about it for months and it is finally here. Based on vintage childrenswear patterns but with a contemporary twist, beautifully handmade and designed by Aussie girls Lea and Julia, what a perfect match it is for Lark! The photos with some of our toys were taken by my very talented pal Kate of Tea and Jam photography. The clothes have been produced in a limited run so if you'd like to buy some you'll need to be quick. Find them here!

Olive's friend Pop is a new Australian design company. Their collection of vintage-inspired, original clothing for little girls is one of the nicest ranges we've seen for a long time.
Their creations are inspired by proper little-girls' clothes of our grandmothers' generation, Post WWII, and from a time when little girls looked like little girls. Everything Olive's Friend Pop make is made to be played in and grubbed up. Little modern takes on vintage designs, produced in beautiful, but wearable and durable fabrics, for today's little ladies.
Say Hello To Olive's Friend Pop. A recently launched label offering a beautiful collection of vintage-inspired, original clothing for little girls. Kid Magazine chats to Julia and Lea about their new business...
Olive’s Friend Pop received our vote for best in show. This debut collection of vintage-inspired, original clothing for little girls is ‘nostalgic playwear’, inspired by children’s apparel from Post WWII. Everything in the range is made to be played in and is produced in beautiful, but wearable, durable fabrics. The Apron Pinafore style shown above, is a modern take on an old classic – just perfect for keeping clothes worn underneath clean.
Olive’s Friend Pop launched their first collection to much applause, and rightly so: the vintage-inspired tailoring, detail and quality cotton and wool composition of these garments for babies, boys and girls is outstanding. These girls are ones to watch!
Olive's friend Pop - gorgeous vintage-inspired kidswear.
NO I do not have any tiny people in my life just yet. But I can appreciate super-cute, Australian-made kidswear!
